About This Scholarship
The Rhodes Scholarship is the oldest and most celebrated international fellowship award in the world, bringing exceptional students from around the world to the University of Oxford. Founded by the will of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, the program has a tradition of over 120 years of producing global leaders in academia, politics, business, science, and the arts. The Rhodes Scholarship covers all University and College fees at Oxford, provides a personal stipend for living costs (approximately £17,310 per year), return airfare to Oxford, and free access to the Rhodes House community of scholars and events. Scholars study for a postgraduate degree, usually a D.Phil. (equivalent to a PhD), an MSc., or an MBA. The selection criteria are intellectual distinction, character, commitment to others and to the common good, and potential for leadership. Open to citizens of more than 60 countries worldwide, with each country having its own selection process and specific eligibility requirements. The Oxford experience provides a transformative academic and personal development journey.
